What is a Single Organization Fund?
WHAT IS A SINGLE ORGANIZATION FUND?
Whether you’re a large nonprofit, a small charity, or a local parish, Knights of Columbus Charitable Fund can minimize the administrative burden of fundraising so you can do more of the work you’re called to do. We serve as the back-office for charitable organizations by helping their donors give non-cash assets and offering foundation-like funds. For example, we help you help your donors give non-cash assets like stocks and business interests. When Knights of Columbus Charitable Fund donors sign into their account, they can browse your Charity Profile page to learn more about you and support your work.
A traditional foundation typically involves a long setup process, legal fees, and ongoing administrative and compliance costs. By establishing a Single Organization Fund (SOF) with Knights of Columbus Charitable Fund, your donors can contribute cash or non-cash assets to the Single Organization Fund while Knights of Columbus Charitable Fund handles the administrative aspects of the donation and the Single Organization Fund.
How does it work?
HOW DOES IT WORK?
A Single Organization Fund is managed in a similar fashion as other accounts with Knights of Columbus Charitable Fund. As an apostolate with a Single Organization Fund, your donors make donations of cash, securities, and other non-cash assets directly into the fund, which is restricted for your organization’s benefit. Knights of Columbus Charitable Fund provides all contributions acknowledgements for their donations. We provide you with an online portal through which to review donations and donors and to make disbursements back to your organization.
